West Oak Pocket Park Ribbon Cutting
The Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro celebrated the official opening of the West Oak Pocket Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning. Residents, community partners, elected officials, and Housing Authority staff gathered to mark the completion of the project, which is located adjacent to the Goldsboro Wayne Transportation Authority (GWTA) Bus Station on North Carolina Street.
The pocket park is the final completed project of the West Oak Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant and represents another investment in the West Oak neighborhood.
The new park features Miracle playground equipment installed by Playtime Installers, including climbing bars, a large rope swing, shaded canopies, picnic tables, and AstroTurf with a handicapped accessible safety surface. The park was designed to provide a welcoming space for residents and families while offering durable, accessible play features for children of all abilities.
The Housing Authority appreciates everyone who helped make the project possible and everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone for the West Oak community.
