HACG Announces Leadership Transition

 

 

 

Goldsboro, NC - During its regularly scheduled Board meeting on August 21, 2025, the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro voted to terminate the contract of Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Anthony Goodson Jr. 

 

While the Board acknowledges and appreciates Mr. Goodson's years of service and contributions to the Housing Authority, a majority of the Commissioners determined that it was time for a change in leadership direction.

 

To ensure stability during this transition, the Board has invited Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Sharita Oates, to consider serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer. She has accepted that position this morning and will continue to lead the day-to-day operations until next steps are communicated.  

 

The Board is committed to fully complying with the terms of Mr. Goodson's contract and is working cooperatively with him.  Throughout this process, the Board has been and will continue to be guided by its legal counsel, Mr. Phil Baddour, to ensure proper procedure and compliance.
