The Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro (HACG) is proud to share that the 2025 HACG Resident & Community Scholarship recipients have been selected, and they are truly exceptional! Our scholarships are designed to support and uplift students who are pursuing higher education, demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to personal and community growth. This year we are honored to award scholarships to three students who are committed to making a difference in their lives, families, and communities:
Resident Scholarship Recipients
Nevaeh Brown
A graduating senior at Goldsboro High School, Nevaeh has been accepted to North Carolina Central University, where she plans to study Biology with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. During high school, she was active in cheerleading, wrestling, mascoting, JROTC, and the Interact Club. These activities strengthened her leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. Nevaeh says these experiences enriched her life and deepened her passion for personal growth and community engagement.
Brittany Bell
A 2025 graduate of Wayne Community College, Brittany has earned her associate in arts degree and has been accepted to East Carolina University, where she plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology. Her long-term goal is to become a licensed counselor specializing in grief counseling, trauma recovery, and faith-based emotional support. A member of Phi Theta Kappa and a consistent Dean's List honoree with a 4.0 GPA, Brittany believes education is a powerful tool for transformation. This scholarship will allow her to continue her journey without the burden of debt while raising her daughter and building a better future.
