HACG to Host Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Landlord Symposium Focused on Building Stronger Landlord-Tenant Relationships

Goldsboro, NC - The Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro (HACG) is pleased to announce its upcoming Housing Choice Voucher (HCV, formerly Section 8) Landlord Symposium on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Goldsboro Event Center.

This free event is designed for current and prospective landlords, property managers, and housing professionals who participate in or are interested in the HCV program. The symposium will highlight strategies to foster respectful, transparent landlord-tenant relationships, reduce conflict, and promote housing stability through proactive communication and collaboration.

Key topics to be covered include:

  • INSPIRE - Understanding HUD's new inspection model and how it impacts property owners

  • Fair Housing - Ensuring compliance with federal and state housing laws

  • Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Program - Partnering to house and support veterans

  • Eviction Process - Navigating legal steps and minimizing disruptions

  • Landlord-Tenant Relations - Strengthening communication and long-term rental success

"This symposium is a great opportunity for landlords to get updated on new policies, network with peers, and learn how to better engage with tenants and housing professionals," said HACG Executive Director Anthony Goodson, Jr. "We're committed to supporting our landlords as key partners in creating safe and stable housing."
